Ok lets take a break from quotes, and delve into percussion instruments. Specifically, tuned percussion-
Ben: What is a marimbaphone?
Wiki: The marimbaphone is a tuned percussion instrument. It was developed by the Deagan company in the early 20th century.
B: And?
W: And In addition to being played with mallets in the conventional way, the steel marimbaphone was designed so that its bars could be rotated from a horizontal position to a vertical position, allowing them to more easily be played with a bow. To further facilitate bowing, the ends of its bars were concave rather than flat. A single marimbaphone could be played by more than one performer, allowing both techniques to be used simultaneously.
B: Cool! What other "hybrid instruments" are there?
W: Xylorimba. It is a pitched percussion musical instrument which is like a xylophone with an extended range. It consists of a series of wooden bars and it combines the range of the two, usually spanning four octaves from the C one octave below middle C to the C three octaves above middle C.
B: Wooooow... that's so hybrical... I want to hear more I wanna hear more!
W: Go here if you want more lists of insturments...
B: YAAAAAY!!!! And that's all we have for today, parade commander, please proceed.
